Modern Slavery Statement
Modern Slavery Statement for Ealing Man and Van
This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the measures taken by Ealing Man and Van to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains. We recognise that the transport and logistics sector can be exposed to labour exploitation risks, and we are committed to ensuring that all work associated with our services is carried out in a lawful, ethical, and transparent manner.
Our Zero-Tolerance Approach
Ealing Man and Van has a strict zero-tolerance policy to all forms of modern slavery, forced labour, human trafficking, debt bondage, and child labour. We do not condone any practice that exploits individuals or restricts their freedom, and we will immediately terminate relationships with any party found to be involved in such activities.
All directors, staff, operatives, and contractors are expected to uphold this policy without exception. Acting in a way that facilitates or ignores possible modern slavery is considered a serious breach of our standards and may result in disciplinary or contractual action.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Ealing Man and Van provides man and van, removals, and related transport services. Our supply chains include vehicle hire and maintenance providers, fuel suppliers, equipment and packing material suppliers, and occasional subcontracted labour or transport services.
We recognise that some suppliers may operate in higher-risk environments or rely on temporary and migrant labour. We therefore seek to work only with reputable partners who share our commitment to fair and safe working conditions.
Supplier Standards and Audits
We expect all suppliers, subcontractors, and business partners to adopt standards consistent with our own. As part of our procurement and supplier onboarding processes, we may request information on labour practices, recruitment processes, and compliance with modern slavery legislation.
Where appropriate and proportionate to the risk, we conduct supplier assessments and audits. These may include reviewing policies on forced labour and human trafficking, checking how worker identity documents are handled, and confirming that staff are free to leave their employment upon reasonable notice.
If we identify concerns or non-compliance, we will work with the supplier to agree corrective actions within a clear timescale. Where serious issues are identified or improvements are not made, we will consider suspending or ending the business relationship.
Training, Awareness, and Responsibilities
Responsibility for overseeing our modern slavery commitments rests with the senior management of Ealing Man and Van. Managers are required to promote ethical conduct and ensure that recruitment and procurement decisions reflect our zero-tolerance approach.
We provide internal guidance to relevant staff on recognising indicators of modern slavery, such as signs of coercion, restricted freedom of movement, retention of identity documents, or wages being withheld. Employees involved in hiring, scheduling, or managing third-party workers are expected to use this guidance in their day-to-day activities.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
Ealing Man and Van encourages anyone with concerns about potential modern slavery or unethical labour practices linked to our operations to speak up. Concerns may be raised with a line manager or a senior member of the management team. Reports can be made in confidence, and we will not tolerate victimisation or retaliation against anyone who raises an issue in good faith.
All allegations will be treated seriously and investigated promptly and fairly. Where there is evidence of criminal activity, we will consider reporting the matter to the relevant authorities and cooperating fully with any official investigations.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
We recognise that tackling modern slavery is an ongoing responsibility and that risks can change over time. Ealing Man and Van is committed to continuous improvement in our approach, including refining our due diligence processes, strengthening supplier engagement, and updating internal guidance as best practice develops.
This Modern Slavery Statement will be reviewed at least once a year by senior management. The review will consider any incidents reported, changes in our business activities or supply chains, outcomes of supplier assessments, and developments in legislation or industry guidance. Where necessary, we will update our policies and practices to enhance our ability to prevent, detect, and address modern slavery risks.
This statement has been approved by the management of Ealing Man and Van and reflects our commitment to operating as a responsible and ethical business.
